Energetic Resilience

"I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” ― Maya Angelou

Resilience is defined as “the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.” - Lexico Oxford dictionary.

The conversation about resilience in healthcare includes deep and detailed discussion on compassion fatigue and burnout, which is occurring at rampant rates.

Our essential healthcare workers have always been under strain - some current statistics show nurses and doctors at 35-54% burnout rate, and as high as 60% among medical students and residents. Add a world-wide pandemic to this existing burden, and wellness professionals are pushed to the breaking point.

This systemic dysfunctional environment is causing higher practitioner rates of depression, substance abuse and suicide risks, as well as increased patient risks for medical error and even racial bias. A 2019 report by the National Academy of Medicine outlined the system-wide issues and called for innovated approaches, which are needed now more than ever.

Essential Self-Care

I receive updates from wonderful healthcare organizations designed to help wellness professionals build physical and emotional resilience. There are many useful self-care strategies, including getting enough sleep, hydration and exercise, along with meditation, guided imagery, breath-work and journaling. These are all critically important tools to help maintain physical and emotional equilibrium.

But what about our energetic equilibrium? Can we go even further than traditional self-care options to create our own “energetic resilience” as an essential foundation? Can this resilience apply to anyone, whether we’re sheltering in place, working on the front lines, dealing with a personal health issue, or just feeling the intensity of our current times?

Energetic Resilience

As a Medical Intuitive, I’ve developed my ability to tap into energetic resilience, and I consider it to be the foundation of balance in mind, body and spirit. Having simple, useful, and immediate energy tools helps me monitor and shift my own energy as needed.

These skills don’t take time away from my life or require adjusting my schedule - they are actually incorporated into my life every day. With energetic resilience skills, I can find more balance in the moment.

Viktor Frankl famously wrote: “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” These unique energy tools are designed to help give us that “space” to build and grow our own energetic resilience.
