Biofield Practices Go Mainstream

Not long ago, intuitive energy-based practices were considered fringe-y and esoteric, at best.

However, as the concepts of mind-body medicine have permeated modern culture, energy-based practices are becoming more accepted at top healthcare institutions (including the U.S. Veterans Administration), attitudes are rapidly shifting. Even traditionally conservative publications like USA Today, Time Magazine, and Forbes have embraced the notion that there may be something to this "woo-woo" stuff after all.

Leaders in complementary and integrative healthcare recognize that the body is made up of more than "pieces and parts" of physical machinery. Working with the energetic aspects of the body, referred to as the “biofield,” has been shown to play a key role in supporting health and well-being.

Biofield healing practices, including Reiki, Healing Touch, and Indigenous healing methods, are being incorporated into hospitals and clinics all over the world. Can Medical Intuition follow this trend?

A groundbreaking 2020 survey by the National Organization for Medical Intuition (NOMI) reveals the prevalence of medical intuitives in healthcare.

According to the survey, 82% of professional medical intuitives assist licensed medical professionals with medical intuition services.

Additionally, 86% receive referrals for medical intuition from licensed healthcare professionals. In fact, 30% of the medical intuitives polled are licensed healthcare professionals themselves.

These astonishing figures demonstrate that Medical Intuition is not only respected and desired in healthcare, but can also be successfully incorporated.

Can we imagine a future for healthcare that includes trained, certified, and vetted professional medical intuitives on staff at clinics, hospitals, ERs and ICUs? How might this create a positive change in the current medical paradigm? How would Medical Intuition support both patients and providers?

The National Organization for Medical Intuition is dedicated to the advancement of professional Medical Intuition. NOMI envisions a world where medical intuitive practitioners are accepted in clinical healthcare, as well as in private practice, and accessible to all members of the public.
